IT-IQ Botswana celebrates 2 decades in IT
In his announcement to the media at the home of IT-IQ Botswana Mr Vish Sethi who is the Managing Director said ,“In the last 20 years, every ICT professional has at some point walked through the doors of IT-IQ as a customer or a student. As the oldest and most substantial ICT training and testing institution in Botswana we have played a pivotal role in defining ICT professionals and their careers in the country.” The company is a wholly citizen owned company and has impacted professionals in the industry and has maintained customer centricity in service delivery of IT solutions to businesses in other industries. At the time of establishing the organization there were no traces of broadband solutions, managed services, specialized professional training and testing centers for IT specialist and advanced WIFI solutions in the country, as they are today.
Over the years, IT-IQ Botswana has maintained a team of qualified and skilled engineers and specialists to ensure high-end service delivery. From a humble beginning of less than 10 employees in Gaborone, today the company also has offices in Francistown, Kasane, Maun and is scheduled to open another branch in Letlhakane soon. When asked about the highlights of the 20-years journey, Sethi said “I remember hiring our 10th employee, I also remember hiring our 20th. I recall our very first contract with Government and many that followed; from Barloworld, Bofinet, Mascom, SADC, and many major industry stakeholders. Bot50 stands also out a time we played an impactful role with our IT solutions, collectively the entire journey is memorable!” IT-IQ is a Microsoft Silver Learning Partner, a CompTIA Silver Training Partner and a BQA accredited ETP, and have been instrumental in the development of ICT professionals in Botswana for the last 20 years. Sethi is no stranger to entrepreneurship as he ventured it at the age fifteen to test his entrepreneurship abilities.
He concluded by saying, “The growth of our business is insignificant without the growth of our people and communities. Job creation and skills development are one of our nation’s biggest challenges. To this end we have grown our staff from 6 in 2009 to 58 today and expanded our footprint from Gaborone to Francistown, Kasane, Maun and are scheduled to open another branch in Letlhakane soon. We offer free professional certification training and testing to all employees as part of our internal development and individual growth plan. Developing our staff and ensuring that the highest levels of skilled engineers (to international standards) are made available to our customers is entrenched in our vision and core values.”
